How To Style Up This Spring: Ten Tips
Spring is a great time to experiment with new trends and new looks.
Whether your wardrobe needs an update or you’re looking for ways to refresh your makeup or skincare routine, we’ve rounded up some of the top tips for Spring 2023.
1. Get Playful
Spring fashion is all about lighter fabrics and going with the flow. Think beautifully loose skirts and dresses as well as delicate detailing. Sheer dress overlays are bang on trend.
2. Blue Hues
Deep blues are in this spring. Dive in with a color-block dress or jacket, or just dip your toe in the water with some well-chosen accessories. We love the ‘Helen of Troy’ pure silk scarf by Grecian Chic – try trailing it from your handbag – and Dora Haralambaki’s exquisite hand-painted formation necklace.
3. Sensational Sequins
Sequins are not just for evening wear. Try adding a touch of sparkle to your day with a sequined collar or a spangled hair accessory.
4. Rethink Florals
The classic spring theme doesn’t have to be boring. Designers are sending models down the catwalk in maximalist floral creations featuring oversized rosettes, sculptural applique and bold abstract prints. There’s no room for shrinking violets this season.
5. Color Pop Accessories
Statement accessories are an easy way to update any look – and the brighter the better. Christina Brampti’s fun geometric designs in bright green, orange, yellow and purple are a guaranteed conversation starter that will add a pop art aesthetic to the simplest of outfits.
6. Lighter, Brighter Handbags
Leave the black bag at home; it’s time to experiment with a splash of color for your most important accessory. A pastel blue, pink or green bag is a timeless addition to your wardrobe that you will reach for again and again.
7. Experiment with Hair
A 90’s style layered bob is one of the hottest spring If you’re not keen on the chop, use hair accessories such as scarves and clips to freshen up your look.
8. Update Your Skincare
As the temperature rises, it’s a good idea to review the products that are part of your daily skincare routine. Switch to lighter moisturizers and water-based serums. Use an exfoliator once or twice a week. Stock up on high protection sunscreen for the face. Don’t rely solely on sunscreen in makeup; these products typically do not have a high SPF and/or don’t protect for both UVA and UVB rays.
9. Makeup With Attitude
Bold makeup has been popular on the catwalk, so don’t be afraid to add some dramatic flair to your lips, cheeks and eyes. The classic smoky eye is big news again, so be prepared to smoulder.
10. Glow Up
Does radiant skin ever go out of fashion?! After applying bronzer and blush, sweep a light-reflecting highlighter across the top of your cheekbones before finishing with setting powder.
