DORA HARALAMBAKI
Dora Haralambaki studied fine arts at Royal College of Art, in London UK. She owned and curated her own gallery of applied arts and later she started creating art jewelry so she could combine all her passions. Since 2009 she also runs workshops and teaches jewelry design and jewelry making.
Dora gets inspired by art itself and the people who create it. At the moment, her main source of inspiration is the artist Mark Rothko and color field, an abstract painting form that emerged in New York City during the 1940s inspired by European modernism and abstract expressionism. In her own words, she has ‘a quiet contemplation, a mood of deep immersion in color’.
Her work is the definition of wearable art and can be found in various museums in Greece but also in the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in San Francisco.
‘A jewel is an accessory. If it has nothing to underline or add to a personality, it doesn’t interest me.’ -Dora Haralambaki
